All QR codes generated on Shrinkify are 100% static and permanent. The payload data (such as a website URL, text note, or email link) is directly encoded into the optical matrix pattern. Because there is no intermediary redirection server or subscription account required, your QR codes will function forever as long as your destination link remains active.
QR codes use mathematical Reed-Solomon error correction to restore data if the printed code is smudged, torn, or covered by a logo. The standard defines four levels: Low (L: 7% recovery), Medium (M: 15% recovery, default for general use), Quartile (Q: 25% recovery), and High (H: 30% recovery). Level H is automatically activated when placing a center logo so the code remains 100% readable even with 30% of its center obstructed.
PNG is a raster bitmap format with high pixel density, ideal for digital screens, email signatures, presentation decks, and web pages. SVG is a resolution-independent Scalable Vector Graphic, which is the gold standard for commercial print shops, vinyl signage, outdoor billboards, and product packaging because it can be scaled infinitely without any pixelation or edge blurriness.
Optical smartphone cameras require high tonal contrast between the dark data modules and the lighter background. Our built-in WCAG contrast auditor checks your color combinations in real time. We recommend a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (such as dark navy on white, black on cream, or deep purple on pale yellow). Inverted codes (white modules on a pitch black background) can be read by modern iOS and Android cameras, but standard dark-on-light provides universal compatibility.
